Field of Dreams

I wanted to use the (unposed) figure to add an extra dimension to this shot of Mont Saint-Michel. One critic opined that the human figure ruins the image. What do you think? I think it enables the viewers to project into the eyes of the lady in the foreground
Ukraine: Before and After the War

I have finally finished my latest painting, Ukraine: Before and After the War. This political artwork explores the contrast between Ukraine’s life before the invasion and the devastation, pain and change brought by the war. The Ukrainian flag is a central symbol of the painting, representing national identity, resilience, hope and the strength of the Ukrainian people.

Hi all, thanks for all the kind (and mostly constructive) comments on the previous photo published. Opinions seem to be divided, and personally I still like the idea of the figure in the foreground adding a hint of mystery and storytelling. BUT... here as suggested is the version without the lady in the foreground. Verdict? I tend to agree : as an image - especially black and white - I think it works better without the human presence...

I was going for the character chiori, they are a geo character in genshin impact that is a fashion designer in the nation of Fontaine, a nation based in France, but they are from a nation called inazuma which is based off of edo period japan. I feel I did bad on some parts of the threading and wanted to ask about it. I feel as if the obi, the right sleeve, and the neck I did a bit worse, but give me your honest opinion.

Was trying to capture reflections of the sunset and incorporate some of the rock in the foreground. It is one of my images that I captured a few years ago and I'm not sure if it has any potential or not.
Body as Sherpa I

That our bodies are both witness and vessel to our stories - they carry the memory of our past at a cellular level. Trying to combine the textuality of newsprint with the strong lines showing the pressure of the burdens we bear. Prussian blue to show the emotional density
Instrospeccion Azul
Freedom!2020
Noch 10T für Kritikengelingarcia · Wall Scuplture/Mixed Technique · 90x90x30 cm · General
I created this work in the midst of 2020, as a direct response to the lockdown, isolation, and institutional control that suddenly came to define our lives. It was no coincidence; being shut in forced me to look for a way out. I used the language of comic books because it suggests direct, uncomplicated action: a wall, an impact, an escape. Beneath that visual immediacy, I wanted to capture my own tension between restriction and free will. The figure I built is a reflection of childhood, but it is also myself: a small insurgent body refusing to remain inside the structure built around it.For me, the wall had to be deliberately artificial. I painted cardboard to imitate solid masonry, intentionally leaving its corrugation visible to expose the fragility behind any illusion of control. I painted the cracks spreading from the center in golden yellow, turning damage and rupture into pure energy. By repurposing discarded plastic within the handmade frame, I sought to deepen the underlying logic of the work: the materials, symbols, and boundaries imposed upon us can all be dismantled and reconstructed.Suspended between sculpture, assemblage, and visual storytelling, Freedom!2020 is my proposition that liberation is an active gesture. I do not present freedom as something granted to us from the outside, but rather as the internal force we need to break open an opening—and the courage it takes to move through it.

Was denkt Ihr?
Scouting Location for Supermoon
Noch 11T für KritikenAlex Ezersky Photography · Photography · Art Critique
Seeking opinions on best perspective for the November super-moon rise. The moonrise will be about 57 degrees right after sunset. I live in the East Bay, Contra Costa County, CA, don't want to travel far and can't really get Mt. Diablo in the foreground, besides parking is closed at dusk. These shots were taken at the Martinez waterfront today while scouting out a good location. Hoping to get an image good enough for the local gallery. Which view works the best?

I wanted to create a vibrant, abstract, surreal image that draws the eye and captivates - one that invites close inspection and would adorn any space. I strove to ensure the piece was neither dull nor banal, incorporating contrasts and, of course, beautiful, pleasing colors.
Transfiguration
Noch 15T für KritikenAnne Reid Artist · Acrylic on Canvas · 16x20 · General
Transfiguration is inspired by the account of Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17:1–8. I wanted to create a sense of the atmosphere and presence of glory described in the passage—Jesus transfigured before Peter, James and John, His face shining like the sun, His clothing becoming white as light, and the bright cloud of God's presence overshadowing them. Rather than illustrating the scene literally, I wanted the painting to communicate the experience of it: overwhelming light, glory, awe and divine presence. The figures emerge within an intense field of colour and light, with the surrounding atmosphere becoming part of the event rather than simply a background. My goal was for the work to retain a sense of mystery while still giving the viewer enough visual information to encounter the biblical narrative.
Little girl on the yard

In this painting, I tried to practice the freshest brushstrokes and the most confident line drawing, not getting bogged down in details, but highlighting what is necessary. How do you think it turned out? How marketable do you think the finished work is?
Echoes of a Nebula
Noch 16T für KritikenFrancesca Luz · Acrylic and modeling paste on canvas · 30×70 · Painting
"This abstract painting is a visual journey through the invisible forces of the cosmos. By combining acrylics and modeling paste, the artist creates a highly textured surface where concentric circles expand like gravitational waves or celestial orbits. The deep shades of blue and purple evoke the mystery of infinite space, while the gold and silver highlights capture the light, mimicking the birth of stardust. This artwork celebrates energy in perpetual motion and the hidden harmony of universal chaos."

Lady in Red is a figurative oil painting built around theatrical glamour, controlled pose, and a deliberately restricted palette. I’m looking for critique mostly on colour balance, contrast, and readability. I really wanted the bright pink, green, purple, and yellow palette to feel playful without becoming overwhelming. I’d also love feedback on the anatomy, pose, line weight/confidence, and whether the character still feels expressive and cohesive overall.
