1979-1997 Comparison of a Mermaid Composition

(from Wendy Ice—David Delamare's widow. On the left is David Delamare's very first mermaid painting. He revisited this composition several times, with the last version in 1997.

David died in 2016. I have spent several years archiving his thousands of paintings, drawings, and sketches. What strikes me most is how consistent his identity and sensibilities were over time, even as his craftsmanship improved.

I can easily recognize any of his art immediately, regardless of media or time period.
