New Collection - First image

Imagen del post 1
I just started a new collection called: Chasing the Light. This is the first one. It's a bit less painterly than I usually do but the image was so colorful that I only softened it up a bit. What do you think?

Elk in Abstract

I had overexposed this elk and thought it was a throwaway, then decided to pull out the color that was there and created a sketch-like image. I am testing that out with other photos. What do you think?

Harbor Reflections

Imagen del post 1
This is the 4th image of the Harbor Series ....to date- the last completed so far. The first one definitely had flaws. Here is where I managed to get most of the technical kinks out. This one is definitely my favorite. I am very open to your thoughts.

Harbor Echoes

Imagen del post 1
This started when I was going through my archives, realizing I had several images of ships at the harbors on different trips to the Oregon Coast. The more I worked with it, the more it came to life, and created a vision for me. I used 3 of my own images and layered them along textures in photoshop. Each overlapping image and textured surface is meant to echo the way memories settle and intertwine, much like silt at the bottom of a harbor. The result is a visual tapestry that invites viewers to reflect on the stories and histories that linger in familiar places. The monochromatic palette and soft interplay of light and shadow create a contemplative mood, inviting a sense of quiet reflection and longing. As you explore the layers, you may discover echoes of your own memories—moments suspended in time, waiting to be unearthed. Daddy Sold the Water Rights

Imagen del post 1

Not completely painterly, but I've always liked this texture on this photo. The title literally tells what happened to this house -- the farm's water rights were sold to a city decades ago, and without the ability to irrigate, the farm died within just a few years. The contrasting greenbelt in the background is a neighboring ranch that still has its water rights intact. Pretty much a commentary on short-term vs long-term planning, unanticipated droughts, and how quickly fortunes can be reversed.

Floating Away

Imagen del post 1
I started this with a regular photo of leaves on the ground under a tree. Then I worked with layers, blur, added textures. I also worked with the channels in PS to enhance the colors and bring out the gray to look blue.
