Ich hatte gestern wieder einen Betrüger, der mir 2000 Dollar für jedes der 15 Gemälde angeboten hat. Ich habe sie eine Weile köcheln lassen, nur zum Spaß. Es hat riesigen Spaß gemacht!

Ich habe gerade die letzte von über 400 Briefen auf Reispapier geklebt, die aus so vielen Kriegen in unserer Geschichte stammen, wie ich finden konnte. (Auch wenn ich das ungern sage, aber das ist mir schon ewig im Kopf, vor allem vor den aktuellen politischen Entwicklungen und vor "keine Könige" – es geht nicht um eines von beiden, sondern um Krieg und Menschen, die versuchen, sich seit Jahrtausenden selbst zu regieren).

„PULP“ ist eine 1,5 m x 1,8 m große Collage, gefertigt aus über 400 Briefen und Dokumenten, die auf Reispapier gedruckt und auf die Leinwand geklebt sind, von Soldaten im Krieg, Kriegsgefangenen, Sanitätern, Krankenschwestern, Spionen, Kriegsgefangenen, Familien und Opfern von Völkermorden während verschiedener Kriege – so viele Kriege, wie ich finden konnte. Zu den Kriegen gehören, aber sind nicht beschränkt auf: Trojanischer Krieg (ca. 12. Jh. v. Chr.), Griechisch-Persische Kriege (492 – 449 v. Chr.), Peloponnesischer Krieg (431 – 404 v. Hay un momento en que el color deja de obedecer a la mano y empieza a recordar por sí solo. Este video nace en ese punto, en ese instante silencioso donde la pintura deja de ser materia y se convierte en presencia. Cada trazo guarda algo que no se explica, algo que viene de lejos, como una memoria que se filtra sin pedir permiso. Los cuadros no son el final, son apenas la huella de ese tránsito, el rastro de un gesto que ocurrió sin prisa. Aquí no hay intención de mostrar, solo de permanecer un poco más dentro del color, como quien escucha algo que no quiere que termine.

Hoy quiero llevarte un poquito dentro de mi proceso. Esta obra nace de los bosques nubosos de Costa Rica: la humedad en el aire, la sensación de caminar entre ramas cubiertas de musgo, ese silencio lleno de vida.

Mientras preparo el soporte y los primeros trazos, estoy pensando en cómo traducir esa sensación de calma y misterio que siento en el bosque. Para mí, pintar naturaleza no es copiar lo que veo, sino lo que se siente estar allí.

Hi all, I have been using second had plastic coated art frames from my goodwill. Is that acceptable, considering that I'm doing my bit? If I sell an original will the buyer mind that it's a recycled canvas (canvas - very losely ,more like polyester)

to really experience the canyon you have to get into the canyon and feel the scale and the temperature shift as light and shadow rearrange themselves. The interior is what reveals the contours I wanted to present here.
