The NEW #SmallWins by Art Storefronts!

Systems Rock!

I think I will be able to produce enough content now to really get some eyeballs on my art. I finally got a repeatable system that will end up with 173 pieces of content, across FB, IG, Pinterest, X, Bluesky, and email. I have created a system for creating the art, generating the marketing pieces, and scheduling as much of it ahead of time as I can. June's focus was "coastal," July was "America the Wild - an America250 celebration of our wild spaces." August is going to be Winter in August. Since I have July pre-loaded for the most part, I can start gathering the August marketing assets.

That's serious organizational architecture. You've built something that can actually run while you're working, which is the only way consistent output happens. The fact that you can front-load July while gathering August assets means you've built in the breathing room most people never give themselves. Curious how the thematic structure plays out across platforms, coastal to wild spaces to winter feels like it's letting the work pivot without losing thread.

173 pieces. That's a machine. I've never been able to plan that far ahead, mostly because the light changes and I end up shooting something completely different than what I scheduled for the month. The repeatable system part is what I keep trying to crack.

Oh, I don't systematize my shoots, just the marketing. when I'm shooting, I'm moved by serendipity, due to light, how i feel that day, other people in the area, rain/snow, there are too many variables -- which contribute to the adventure -- to try to create a system. I do make a plan to GO, and a list of things I'd like to try and capture, but nature is nature. Doing an urban landscape shoot is easier, somewhat. I can do a scouting trip to see the light and observe the environment.

My marketing is using existing pieces. I'll publish the new pieces I create, but I won't add them to marketing until the next rotation or some other time. As I develop the process, I'll be planning the themes of each month's campaign farther out, but not the marketing itself -- just the themes. That way I can start looking for pieces that will fit the theme.

Marketing used to be the thing I feared and hated, but now I'm actually excited about it!
