I wonder what would happen if...
What If...?
Sometimes the best ideas begin with one simple question...
"I wonder what would happen if..."
A couple of marbles.
A sheet of glass.
Some baby powder.
A few lights.
And a little imagination.
A few years ago I was fascinated by the incredible images coming back from the James Webb Space Telescope. Instead of trying to photograph the night sky, I wondered if I could create the feeling of deep space right here in my studio.
The marbles were photographed separately. The "nebula" is actually baby powder on a sheet of glass lit from different directions. Everything was photographed independently and then blended together until the final scene emerged.
What I enjoyed most wasn't the finished image...
It was the experimentation.
Looking at this image again reminded me how much I miss simply playing with ideas without worrying whether they'll become portfolio pieces or not.
I think it's time to dust off the macro lens and start asking that question again...
"I wonder what would happen if..."
Curiosity has always been one of our greatest creative tools.
Sometimes all it takes is giving ourselves permission to experiment.
The Way of Awareness

This looks like what Stephan Burns has been talking about on youtube re: solar storms that are in the process of coming to the Earth right now; with the results of how Earth will and could change from these major disruptions. Your visual is definitely hitting on "I wonder what would happen" and soon we will see --stay tuned until August full moon.
