I'm not happy with the title, I'm getting a feeling of being in Paris in a café about to meet someone special. I really like the piece.
Damn, Larry...if I change the title I have to recreate my art statement too! I agree, the title is a bit odd. I guess I like the playfullness of it. I appreciate your thoughts, thanks for sharing them. I love the image of sitting in a Paris cafe!
I like the piece, my first impression was it was too busy. The more I looked at it though I realized the floral piece continually drew my eye to the bowl of fruit and bottle of wine which I assume is your focal point(at least it is for me). Well done.
I have been drawn to flowers all of my life and I especially enjoy painting them because I find them intersting to simplify, abstract and generally play around with.
In my studio, I like to let the shapes and composition announce themselves to me as I work. It's exillarating and a little bit scary, like walking a tightrope without a net, but I love pulling a painting out of the original shapes on the canvas.
This painting is all about pushing the limits on perspective, color and shape while still maintaining a recognizable scene.
Unless you happen to be a gardener, the title of this piece, "Bada Bing, Bada Boom", may not make any sense to you. However, as this painting progressed, I felt that the white flowers began to look like Begonia's to me. A little research revealed that that are two begonias with related names, Bada Bing and Bada Boom.
And Bada Bing Bada Boom, I had my title! 16"x20" Acrylic on canvas
