I love the narrative of a person’s life as told in symbolism so I like to incorporate some aspect of nature that relates to their journey. As far as the visionary part goes - I have always been a visual learner so I endeavor to tell a story with my paintings so that they are “read” by the viewer. The visions I have that speak to me or encourage me I try to translate to paint and canvas. Does that make sense?

I'm drawn to that pairing, visionary portraits with nature. It reminds me of what I look for in cities, the quiet detail that holds a story. You photograph or paint, mostly?
I double majored in photography (back before digital) and painting but mostly use photography as a reference for my portraits. But also can’t help but continue to shoot whatever I find interesting. Thus the 18,000 + photos on my phone😅
