I was out camping when I noticed the nuthatches out feeding. I was not there explicitly to take photographs but I always have my camera on hand so it became my mission to capture an image of these quick and flighty birds in action!

Sometimes the best photographs happen when we weren’t looking for them. You noticed the moment, had your camera ready, and captured it beautifully. I especially love the natural framing of the branches and cones — and what a lovely little bird!
