That moment when you catch them mid-peek. I've spent whole mornings waiting for woodpeckers to show themselves around a trunk, and it's always just before you think they won't. The framing here, the way the bird fills that negative space, that's the patience paying off.

That little head tilt caught mid-peek is perfect. I don't shoot birds much myself but I know how fast they move, so getting the eye that sharp at 1/500 with all that bark texture too is really something. The framing makes it feel like we're both watching for the same thing.
