Path to the Summit -- Prospect Mountain (Lake George, NY)

That light cutting through the trees on the left pulls the whole composition forward. The silhouette of the path against those darks is doing a lot of work.

I really like how the path leads the eye into the frame and then disappears around the rock face. It creates a genuine sense of curiosity — you immediately want to follow it and see what lies beyond the bend.

I walked that path years ago, and what stayed with me was the granite showing through at the edges. You kept that weight in the frame, the mountain under the route, not just the route itself.
