Winter's Solitude

Post image 1

I shot "Winter's Solitude" on an early, frosty morning. It portrays mist threading through the cliffs and snow-dusted trees, while a lone cabin tucks into the slope—the fog softens and quiets the scene. The Western Slope of Colorado is a great place for photography.

Wonderful piece! I think the color temperature really works for the mood here. I especially like the contrasting warm tones where the sun is illuminating the mountains. 👏

Thank you, I had been in a big snow storm and it broke just at the right time.

I don't think most people understand just how long us photographers sit through bad weather waiting for that single shaft of light. The essence of "hurry up and wait."
