Mountains, Farms, and Clouds

Captured on the road in Idaho, this image began with the simple presence of water sprinklers moving across the field, but the longer I looked, the more the scene opened up. The sky became the first thing to speak — wide, layered, and full of movement — while the mountains settled quietly into the background with their steady presence.

I've stood in those Idaho fields. The sprinklers do that, you think you're watching irrigation, then the sky pulls you in. What keeps me here is the foreground texture, how the land holds its roughness against all that openness above. You didn't smooth it away.

Thank you for your feedback! It really turned out better than my original intent by far. I was worried it might be too much for the eyes, but I could not help but be completely satisfied with whole vision. You just can't disregard those clouds and mountains!

I've had that moment too, where you stop for one thing and the whole scene shifts on you. The sprinklers pulled you in, then the sky took over. That's how it goes sometimes. I'll set up for a ridgeline at sunrise and end up shooting the fog in the valley instead because that's what's working. The mountains here feel patient, like they're happy to wait while the clouds do their thing. Really like how much breathing room you gave the sky.

I am glad I opened up the space as well. It definitely would not have been much. I was hoping it wouldn't seem too busy, but it if you look at it for a minute, I feel everything stands as it should. My intent was farmland like I said, but clearly there was so much more. Appreciate you! I can't stay away from fog either.
