Well, it's Thursday, but I missed this previously. My focus this week is to complete some small studies of still life paintings with contrasting patterns. This is my first, and it's too literal for me. It's going to take some time to figure this out.

Yes, indeed "Less is more".

But it's not exactly a portfolio; I would make a version of about 100 works at a later stage. I am trying to collect and restore them in creation order so that I can then organize and identify the key ones in the evolution of my approach. And also remind myself of the oldest ones that have disappeared, because I deleted my gallery of works that were removed/data on my old site...

I do it on Canva; that goes fairly quickly: title, image, info, medium, support, page copy, and you change by going from the most recently created to the earliest.

I am working on a new series of cosmic pieces, involving pours and splattering, alo gside a little painting, of acrylic pieces on canvas.

This is a smaller one, 40x40 cm. It just needs a little touching up now

For a good few yesrs I worked with textures, creating more layered, three-dimensional artworks, using glass, clay, crack paimt, found objects, sith paint. But I started to want to explore more the posdibilibilities of working woth paint, using splatter and pour techniques. I had anyway been creating pours on paper to create paintings for a while. It wssnt a stretch to start creatimg cosmic images from tjete, exploring both outsr and inner space, through experimentation.

Hi, I'm Sue Dion. My focus for this week is to begin a series of small studies in a style I am hoping to adapt for my still life paintings.
