I like the idea but feel the subject is much too small. Other than that, the bright tones advance towards the eye and the darks recede giving it depth, and shallow depth of field works well.

Solitude at twilight?
Minimalist, but the framing is optimal for creating this impression of solitude. By framing it in the lower part, the flower seems to struggle against an immensity of greyness, perhaps a tad too high, but almost nothing when reviewing the photo. Personally, as a painter, I avoid the exact center. Try placing the buttercup just below the exact center to increase the visual weight.
