Entering In! A Prayer!
In my digital RabiscARTES, I often seek the point where the finite meets the infinite. This piece is a declaration that the most powerful position a human being can take is on their knees. Notice the contrast: the figure is dark and heavy, representing the weight of our earthly burdens and the 'dark' situations we often carry. But as the head bows, the sky responds. I have used a mosaic of bright pastels and vivid hues to show that prayer is not a one-way street; it is the moment the Creator of this vast, expanding universe leans down to listen. To the one who prays, the universe is not a void, but a vibrant tapestry of life and light.
When we bend our knees, we are not making ourselves small; we are positioning ourselves to receive the full spectrum of the Eternal. The swirling shapes and 'scribbles' above the figure represent the divine wisdom and grace that flow toward us when we silence the noise of the world. No matter how shadowed your internal world may feel, the act of faith opens a 'bridge'—much like Christ’s Bridge—into a reality where colors never fade. In this posture of prayer, the soul is finally 'inside' the Creator, and it is there that we discover we are known by name.
To look at this work is to realize that the mosaic of the universe is not just 'out there'—it is a conversation that begins within. It is my hope that when people see this, they don't just see a person praying; they see the amazing colors of life that become visible only when we lower our gaze in faith. As I say in my mission, 'none of us is as good as all of us together,' and that includes our relationship with the One who designed the colors themselves.
