Scrap Metal Dancer

Description

Scrap Metal Dancer turns salvaged metal pieces into a playful figurine, poised on one leg with an instrument tucked close. Polished highlights set its industrial forms against a dramatic monochrome backdrop. This compact sculpture brings a touch of inventive character to a shelf, desk, or studio.

Artist

Sculptor in Pittsburgh. Mid scale figurative work in reclaimed steel, torsos and hands mostly, sourced from old bridges and machine shops around western PA. Took me three years to stop fighting the material and let heat distortion do some of the talking. Still cracking welds.
