Description
On the wall next to entrance to my studio, an altar ledge covered with "California Gold" gravel serves as a bridge between two worlds. Above, set against Mt Olympus dripping with eternal shimmers, a greyed image of Zeus and Hera, lounging together, gender idealized bodies and gazes only we humans could project onto those so exalted, with an earthen jar between them from which flows blue water onto the ledge. Below, an angelic-winged, blue and green stripped vase holds two succulents in loam, Diagonal from Hera the plant bears such a myriad of green spheres dripping over the edge, diagonal from Zeus a stem curls down then back to the center bearing its flower. Stretching down from the edges of Mt Olympus are 19 gold threads serving as a veil preserving the sacred mystery of creation: love.
