Description
One of the things I enjoy about photographing London is the way completely different periods of architecture sit side by side. Here, the strong vertical lines and repeating window patterns of Euston Tower dominate the scene, while the older brick building in the foreground provides a contrasting layer of London history. Warren Street Underground Station can also be seen at the lower left, anchoring the photograph firmly in the everyday life of the city. Euston Tower is also remembered by many Londoners as the long-time home of Capital Radio, adding another layer of cultural history to this familiar landmark. The brilliant blue sky and reflections across the tower were what particularly caught my attention when making this photograph.
