When I lived in #Philadelphia, I could see the #skyline from my balcony and was inspired to create this whimsical acrylic art.

Cityscapes - Nightscapes

Imagem do post 1
When I relocated from England to New Jersey (for work) my first vision of Manhattan was at night crossing the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, giving a full and somewhat elevated view of Manhattan (fortunately I was not driving, I was in a taxi). I immediately discovered my love for cityscapes at night. The lights in the buildings, both residential and office, just overwhelmed me at the beauty made by man. Tell me how do you prefer cityscapes - daylight or nighttime?

2 versions of Washington Heights that I did as a drawing. The first one was purchased as an installment piece for a brand new hospital in Paramus NJ. The 2nd one was a commission that I did for a non profit organization that tutored teenagers in the heights and auctioned off at their 25th gala celebration. I was very honored and blessed to have one piece in a hospital to encourage and inspire people and the other one in someone's home who lived in Washington Heights. You never know where your art may land and what it can do for people!

NYC Evening In Washington Heights - Castle Village

Imagem do post 1
Washington Heights is in Upper Manhattan from around 168th St to 190th. The George Washington Bridge is included in that area. Here is an evening view cityscape with just the window lights to give off a luminous glow to the sky, as quietness and an end of the day closes all the activities.

Under The 215th St Station in Upper Manhattan Inwood

Imagem do post 1
For over 35 years I've traveled above these tracks on the 1 Train to downtown NYC and over into the bronx. I finally got in the middle of the street, which doesn't have that much traffic and took a photo. This became my drawing, capturing the lights and shadows on the street, creating geometrical patterns

Residential city life?

Some of my favorite subject matter is the more residential side of city life...historical apartment buildings, corner stores and neighborhood restaurants, etc.

Anyone have anything like this?

The Underground Canary Wharf Station in London

Europe has some of the most fascinating and beautiful architectural structures in the world. Canary Wharf is in one of the most busiest financial districts in London. The curved architecture, lines and design are like entering a fantasy world underground. The shadows and light with the dome above change, depending on the time of day and weather. Here it is bathed in the blues.
