Description
With “King Nelson” I wanted to play with this idea of a man who could be a Shakespearean actor, a forgotten noble, or just someone you might meet today, carrying all his roles inside him. The ruff, the dark coat, the fiery hair—they belong to another time, but the expression is very present, very human.
I let the background burn slowly from blue into red so that he sits in his own little theatre of light, almost like a character caught between scenes. He isn’t smiling, he isn’t performing; he’s simply there, quietly holding his ground.
