Tropical Directions

Description

Tropical Directions presents a guidepost alive with island color and easygoing humor. I photographed the original hand-painted signs and applied an oil-painted treatment to reflect the carefree feeling they transmitted. Layered planks point to “Sunshine,” “Coffee,” “Captiva Island Inn” and other local spots, each hand-lettered in playful fonts and sun-washed hues. Weathered wood, bright pigment, and loose brushwork in the oil finish lend a tactile, sunlit quality that reads like a walk down a beachside lane. Hang it over an entry, in a sunroom, or above a bar — a relaxed accent that will lift your space.
