Returning to the outback after years away, I found myself seeing its familiar landscapes and inhabitants with new eyes. This piece, “Homecoming,” is both a reflection and a celebration of that rediscovery. The Australian raven, a watchful presence, embodies the spirit of the land—resilient, curious, and ever-present. The rock beneath him nods to my background as a geologist, bridging my past and present. At its heart, “Homecoming” reminds us that beauty and meaning often reside closest to home, in the creatures and places we learn to truly see when we return with fresh perspective.
