ArtHelper Community Standards

ArtHelper was built to bring creatives together in a safe and productive environment. Our Community Standards are designed to facilitate this.

On this page, learn more about what content is and isn't allowed on ArtHelper, and how moderation enforcement works on the platform.

AI-Generated Imagery / "AI Art"

ArtHelper is a community for human artists and has a strict "no AI art" policy.

AI-generated images (including outputs from Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL-E, Firefly, and similar tools) are not permitted here, regardless of how much they were prompted, edited, or "directed." Posting AI-generated work as your own, or without clear disclosure, is a violation of this policy.

This includes content generated using your own reference imagery (ie: "transform this photo from my phone into a painting").

Images that have been minorly edited or retouched using the AI tools found in software like Photoshop and Illustrator are allowed.

Hateful Conduct, Bullying, and Harassment

We believe creativity thrives when people feel safe to express themselves. This community is for artists of all backgrounds, skill levels, and perspectives. Everyone here deserves to be treated with basic dignity.

We don't allow content or behavior that targets people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or similar characteristics.

We also don't tolerate personal attacks, targeted harassment, or sustained bad-faith behavior directed at other members or their artwork.

Reports of harassment are taken seriously. Members who repeatedly violate this policy will be removed.

Fraud, Scams, and Deceptive Practices

Anything designed to deceive, manipulate, or exploit members undermines that and has no place here.

Don't misrepresent yourself, your work, or your intentions. This includes impersonating other artists or organizations, falsely claiming credentials or affiliations, and passing off others' work as your own.

Don't use ArtHelper to run schemes – fake giveaways, phishing links, fraudulent sales, or any offer designed to extract money or personal information under false pretenses. Violations will be removed and offenders will be permanently banned, and where appropriate, reported to relevant authorities.

Self-Promotion

Sharing your work, your shop, your commissions, and your services is a natural part of participating in an artist community, but how you do it matters.

Post your work because you want feedback, connection, or conversation – not just clicks.

A few ground rules:

  • Sharing your artwork – always welcome, in the right communities.
  • Promoting your shop, website, or print-on-demand store – allowed, but keep it occasional and contextually relevant. If every post you make is a sales pitch, that's spam.
  • Paid workshops, courses, and tutorials – allowed with disclosure. Be upfront that it's a paid offering.
  • Affiliate links and referral codes – must be disclosed clearly. Hiding commercial relationships from the community is a violation.
  • Giveaways and collabs – allowed. Make sure the terms are clear and the offer is real.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

ArtHelper respects intellectual property rights and expects every member to do the same. Don't use another creator's copyrighted work in any way that infringes on their rights as the copyright holder.

If you believe your work has been posted without your permission, report it and we'll act on it promptly.

NSFW and Sensitive Content

ArtHelper recognizes that the human body, sexuality, violence, and other mature themes have been central to art throughout history. However, as an all-ages platform we have to balance artistic freedom with providing a space that is accessible and safe for everyone.

As a result, sensitive content is generally not allowed.

This includes:

  • Nudity or sexual content of any kind
  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form
  • Content designed to threaten, intimidate, or harm a specific person
  • Content that glorifies real-world violence or atrocities
  • Gratuitous gore or content designed to shock without artistic purpose

Reporting Violations

If you see something that violates these standards, report it. Every post and comment on ArtHelper has a report option, which will send the content to our moderation team for review.

Reports are confidential. The person you report will not be notified that a report has been filed, or who filed it.

How These Standards Are Enforced

We aim to be fair, consistent, and human about enforcement.

When a violation is reported or flagged, our moderation team reviews it in context. Not everything that looks like a violation is one, and we reserve the right to make the final call on what is or isn't allowed to be on the platform.

Enforcement generally follows this ladder:

  1. Warning – for first-time or minor violations, we'll let you know what the issue was and what needs to change.
  2. Content removal – violating content is taken down.
  3. Profile removal – repeated violations or more serious offenses will result in complete removal from the community.

Serious violations may result in immediate, permanent removal with no prior warning.

Community Input on Gray Areas

Not every moderation question has an obvious answer, and we don't pretend otherwise. In cases where a policy is genuinely unclear or a new situation emerges that these standards don't fully address, we'll bring it to the community before making a call.

Our core values and standards such as harassment, fraud, and AI-generated content aren't up for debate. But where reasonable people could disagree, we'd rather take the pulse of the community than decide behind closed doors. We're building this platform together, and that means your voice matters in how it's governed.

When we put something to a vote, we'll be transparent about what we're deciding and why, and we'll share what we do with the outcome.
