The Wickens family operates on a deep conservation philosophy. Guided by holistic management principles, they rotationally graze their Black Angus cattle in a way that mimics natural bison herds. This practice aids in nutrient cycling, improves soil health, and encourages native plant diversity on thousands of acres. In recognition of their dedication to the land and wildlife habitat, the ranch was awarded the prestigious Montana Leopold Conservation Award.
