With Awakenings, I wanted to capture a very personal moment, the return to painting and the feeling of something slowly coming back to life. After a pause, there is always that quiet shift where energy begins to return and this piece reflects exactly that. At the centre, a large glowing sphere dominates the sky. It can be seen as a moon or a sun, depending on how you feel when you look at it. For me, it leans more toward a powerful moon, radiating warmth and light, almost like a force that gently awakens everything beneath it. Below it, the mountains still carry the weight of winter. Snow rests along their peaks, sharp and textured, strong and unmoving. But just beneath that stillness, change has already begun. The landscape starts to soften, and hints of green emerge through the darker tones of the hills. At the very base, small and delicate flowers begin to appear. They are intentionally subtle, almost hidden at first glance. These tiny details represent the earliest signs of spring, the quiet beginning of growth. If you follow them closely, they begin to expand, becoming more vibrant and alive, echoing the same transformation seen in the cherry blossom tree to the side, shifting from deep tones into soft pink. This painting lives in that transition, the moment where winter is still present, but spring is already unfolding. It carries a sense of renewal, calm energy and quiet optimism. Not a sudden change, but a gradual awakening. Because of its scale, 70 × 100 cm, this piece is designed to hold space. It works naturally as a centrepiece in a living room, but also fits beautifully in environments where people seek calm and presence, such as boutique hotels, refined restaurants, or spa spaces. It invites the viewer to pause, breathe and reconnect. For me, Awakenings is about that subtle but powerful shift, where everything starts small, then slowly becomes alive again.
I am a self-taught artist who paints from a place of calm and curiosity. I like to transmit the quiet rhythm of nature with beautiful colours.
