KNIGHT SHERRING. FRAMED? 30in. X 22in. Promarkers and soft pastels on multi media board. I have been to many art exhibitions over the years, and I have come to the conclusion that many artworks are badly framed. I think this is largely due to the artist not being part of the decision-making, or thinking that the frame is not part of the overall image. You cannot look at a picture and not see the frame, so why not make the frame a part of the image, and not an add-on. When constructing this image, my first thought was the frame. The frame became my first mark. Put simply, I reversed the process; the frame became my first mark, and my thoughts were based around the frame and not inside it. Making the frame an integral part of the image.
