Description

Work in progress, head detailing done. Underdrawing on the body and legs ready to add detailed layers. This is the part that takes time. Getting a good base colour down is the key with pastel pencil. I use a good pastelmat paper that allows for lots of layers. This is what gives the depth, realism and the fine detail needed for fur. I try to get the eyes into a picture at the earliest stage as I feel the animal's personality come through
