This black-tailed deer wandered into the clearing with an evident agenda: bat eyelashes, look adorable and see if anyone brought snacks. With those oversized ears, tiny budding antlers and that sweet but steady stare, he’s giving “forest flirt” energy… or possibly “I dare you to not smile.” Caught in the Oregon woods, surrounded by warm autumn color, he seems perfectly content to let the world slow down around him. He appears to have paused mid-thought, while deciding whether you’re friend or foe (or – if he’s really lucky – in possession of food). This handsome youth is a charming reminder that the wild can be graceful, funny, and slightly demanding all at once.
