Description
The Boardwalk at Big Lake is close to where I live and one of my favorite trails to take. On this particular day, the light hit the water just right so that all the wooden boardwalk created deep purple and blue shadows over the yellow green algae. These same lines and movement were carried up through the tall grasses and even in the cloud formation on the distant horizon. The layered brushwork creates a sense of movement, drawing the eye from the glowing horizon into the richly textured foreground. A small figure at the right adds a quiet human presence to the scene. Its fresh palette and energetic composition would bring character to a living room, studio, or creative workspace.
