Carrying the Weight

Description

This sketch depicts a woman trying to carry the load of her family by herself and being weighed down by the responsibilities of motherhood and family. The gesture of the woman suggests imbalance, and the struggle to maintain the pace of life. The unfinished quality gives the work a sense of immediacy, making it a thoughtful addition to a studio, creative workspace, or living space.

My work is about family relationships and community, it celebrates our humanity through the use of color, expressive gestures of our human emotions. I work primarily in these three mediums acrylic, oil, and watercolor. I also like to experiment with mixed media in my paintings.
