Description
I work primarily in colored pencil, Micron ink and pastel media on paper, building surfaces layer by layer to render fur, foliage and light with dense, tactile clarity.
I want my artwork to show my intense interest in the wild animal kingdom and their natural habitats. I am drawn to wild animals that express their natural instinctive personalities. More often, my drawings are a close-up of the animal as an active presence rather than a backdrop, and aims to provoke a direct, uncompromised recognition of that presence. I believe this goal was captured in this close-up drawing of a tiger in the forest.
