Description
Ayler is an attempt not to portray Albert Ayler, but to paint the experience of his sound. Explosive colour, fractured forms and sweeping black gestures collide across the composition, creating a visual language of tension, freedom and improvisation. Beneath the apparent disorder, recurring lines, colours and shapes create an underlying structure—echoing Ayler’s extraordinary ability to combine raw intensity and radical expression with music that could remain strangely hymnal and deeply emotional. Rather than depicting the musician or his instrument, the work translates sound into colour, pressure and movement: a painting that seeks not simply to represent jazz, but to behave like improvised music. 120 × 120 cm. Fine-art print mounted on 3 mm Alu-Dibond under Plexiglas. Limited edition of 3, signed and numbered, with Certificate of Authenticity and an original poem. Not a portrait of the musician, but a portrait of the sound.
