Description
Late fall on the west coast is prime swordfish season. This "Indian Summer" style day at the 9-Mile Bank mixed with random light squalls made for stellar late November conditions..
A swordfish harpoon boat searched plank-down at the ready. Our efforts yielded a 209 pound Broadbill on a late afternoon strike. In fact, it interrupted this photo session. I was bit on rod and reel on the buoy line. The two truly sustainable methods with respect to the Ocean ensured no bycatch whatsoever.
When it all comes together it just happens even if time only for a few clicks. This day we got the bite, got the fish, and got the shot. Trifecta. Ideal.
