Description
I work primarily in mixed media — colored pencil, pan pastels and Micron ink .08 linework on paper to portray big horned rams and the various plants and flowers that shape their world. This piece depicts the big horned ram and the steep ridgelines they navigate, alongside the small alpine flowers and lichens that mark seasonal change.
I am drawn to the tension between strength and fragility. The sculptural forms of curved horns and sinewed bodies are a great contrast beside petals and moss, which is clearly depicted in this colorful drawing.
