My work is a conversation between culture, craft, and the natural world. Growing up surrounded by stories of traditional practices and later exploring Indonesian villages, I became deeply inspired by the way life there flows in harmony with nature. This influence shapes both my process and my palette. I choose natural dyes not only for their earthy beauty but for their connection to sustainability and heritage, each colour carrying the memory of plants, soil, and water.
The forms in my work are organic and layered, echoing landscapes shaped by rivers, rice terraces, and pathways that weave through rural communities. These shapes are not literal representations but abstractions of movement and rhythm, how people interact with their environment, how nature defines boundaries and creates patterns. The tactile quality of my surfaces reflects my love for texture and imperfection, reminding us that beauty often lies in what is raw and unrefined.
Through my art, I aim to evoke a sense of belonging and interconnectedness. It is about slowing down, noticing the quiet details, and honouring traditions that respect the earth. Each piece is a reflection of my personal journey, an attempt to bridge the gap between modern life and the timeless wisdom found in nature and craft.
