Teal-Toned Portrait

Description

This watercolor portrait presents a woman in a dark hat, with long brown hair framing her face and a steady, thoughtful gaze. Soft washes of blush, earthy brown, and muted green lend the sketch a loose, expressive feel. Its intimate scale and understated palette make it a distinctive addition to a studio, reading nook, or gallery wall.

Acrylic painter in Santa Fe. Portraits and figures, often of people I know, built up in thin layers. Came from sign painting which left me with good edges and bad instincts about blending. Still working out how much to leave unresolved in a face.
