Colorfield Portrait

Description

A striking portrait pairs a steady, direct gaze with long dark hair and delicate silver piercings. Bright layers of pink, turquoise, yellow, and red animate the face and neck, set against softly shaded features and a deep, dark backdrop. Its confident color and graphic presence bring a distinctive accent to a room.

Acrylic painter in Santa Fe. Portraits and figures, often of people I know, built up in thin layers. Came from sign painting which left me with good edges and bad instincts about blending. Still working out how much to leave unresolved in a face.
