Seaside in Progress

Description

“Seaside in Progress” depicts an artist painting beside the shore, with a pale blue seascape taking shape on the easel. The canvas’s open areas and the artist’s focused hand lend the scene a quiet sense of process and immediacy. Its coastal palette and glimpse of plein-air practice make a thoughtful addition to a creative space.

Oil painter in Seattle, mostly outdoors. Landscapes painted on site in two or three hours because that is how long the light lasts. Years of studio work taught me to fuss; painting in the rain taught me to stop. Still lose paintings to weather regularly.
