Description
This 8” x 10” oil portrait of LTG Hal Moore is my tribute to a leader whose courage, discipline, and unwavering devotion to his soldiers shaped generations of warriors. LTG Moore wasn’t just a historic figure — he embodied the kind of character that every soldier admires: steady under fire, humble in victory, and fiercely protective of the men he led. His principles, especially his belief that “there is always one more thing you can do,” echo through every veteran who has ever tried to live a life worthy of the uniform.
Painting him became a moment of deep reflection for me. As a veteran myself, working in oils allowed me to honor both the steel and the humanity in Moore’s face — the eyes of a man who carried the weight of responsibility, but never lost compassion. I focused on capturing that quiet intensity: the resolve in his expression, the strength in the lines of his face, and the calm leadership that defined him.
This portrait isn’t just an image. It’s a salute — from one soldier to another — to a man whose service, integrity, and legacy will never fade.
