Description
This painting is inspired by Bealach na Bà — the Pass of the Cattle — that extraordinary single-track road winding through the mountains on the Applecross peninsula.
It’s a road with a little drama in it: steep, zigzagging, impossible to ignore. Not for the fainthearted, perhaps, but to me it feels like the very essence of Scotland — rugged, elemental, and unforgettable.
I wanted to capture not just the route itself, but the feeling of being somewhere that asks something of you and rewards you with vastness in return. A place that feels both wild and deeply familiar.
