Description
Abiding Relational Trust, the third work in my Faith Series, explores grace, imperfection, and renewal. I painted a Southwestern folk-art interpretation of Mary and the Christ Child from memory and intuition, allowing unexpected resistant marks in the materials to become symbols of our human tendency to resist faith, change, and surrender. The old adobe Catholic church carries a parallel story of generations continually repairing and preserving both the building and their shared faith. Blended together, the images become a meditation on the idea that faith is not found in perfection, but in restoration, patience, and the grace that transforms what is worn or imperfect into something enduring and beautiful.
