'Raven's Reflection'

A work full of colour in which the viewer's gaze is immediately sucked into the centre, where an eye decomposes into shapes and nuances, as if it were undone by the very act of seeing. The edges of the eye fragment into spirals and slits, distorting its unity. Disorganised lines overlap, as if vision were being reconfigured before our eyes. At the heart of this chromatic chaos, one figure stands out: a dark, solid raven, untouched by the explosion of colours around it. It rests there, motionless, as if it were the only truth within this sensory distortion. The duality is evident - the eye represents the shattered perception, while the crow seems to be the only stable entity. But is it the observer or the observed? The painting pulses with this ambiguity, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in their own interpretation.

The way you've anchored that raven in the center while the eye dissolves around it creates real visual tension. That stillness against all that chromatic chaos does the heavy lifting.

The raven anchored in all that motion, that choice works. I've spent mornings waiting for a single bird to hold still long enough in a frame where everything else is shifting (light moving through trees, water, wind), and there's something about that stillness against chaos that pulls focus harder than any centered subject ever could. The way the eye fragments outward but the raven stays solid, that tension between what's breaking apart and what won't budge, it's the kind of thing I'm always chasing in a landscape when the fog's lifting unevenly or a storm's half-clearing. You nailed the anchor.
