Description
She arrived wearing a garden.
Greens piled like petals. Pink whispers. Palette knife textures that sing. Small and unapologetic!
This is "In Full Bloom." The dress presents a landscape of leaves and tiny pink blooms, built up in thick oil so each flourish catches the light. It’s playful, peaceful, and a little bit proud.
When I painted "In Full Bloom" I wanted the dress itself to be the subject — a skirt that reads as foliage, petals, and movement. I worked with a palette knife to layer different greens and soft pinks, letting the paint sit on the canvas like actual blossoms. The figure is simplified on purpose; by leaving the face blank and the posture gentle, the dress does the storytelling and the viewer gets to imagine the moment. Painting this felt like arranging flowers: deliberate, joyful, and full of small surprises!!!
This is No. 5 in my series titles: “It’s All About the Dress”.
