Description
This is one David Delamare's most personal paintings. In fact, when someone offered to purchase it several years ago, I turned them down because I couldn't yet bring myself to let it go.
Those who have closely followed David's career will recognize many iconic Delamare details, from the carnival elements, the monkeys, to the tasteful nudes with stockings and hats. But what makes this piece especially personal is that it is one of only two paintings ever that feature both of his rabbit muses. Rupert Quincy can be seen stretched on the ground in his famous "bunnycake" pose. While Chloe inspired both grey rabbits.
Meanwhile, the whispering rabbits in the foreground suggest a secret society that David and I imagined. He liked this idea and image so well that he chose it for his final logo.
David loved this painting and its whimsical feel.
The original painting was created in oil on a 48"x24" stretched canvas. It is priced at $12,000. Layaway options available.
