I am incredibly lucky to have so much space - images are a left to right panorama of most of the space - there is another messy wall behind me as well!

That's serious square footage. I work at my kitchen table and have to pack everything up before dinner, so seeing a dedicated space where you can leave things mid-process and come back to them makes me a little jealous. The mess behind you is probably where the real magic happens, honestly. My most useful wall right now is covered in terrible gesture drawings I'm forcing myself not to hide.

I feel a bit guilty at having so much space and am very aware how lucky I was to be able to convert the original house owner's garage and woodworking shop into this space. I just counted and there are 5 table-tops / desks in here and that means I have a photo workspace, a computer desk, a gel print workspace, a cycanotype workspace and generic "place where I put stuff and cut stuff up" workspace. Yeah - sorry - not a brag - just a grateful accounting of luck.

The sheer amount of wall real estate is wild. I keep my reference boards digital because I run out of room fast, but seeing everything pinned up like that must change how you think about a project when you can just look around instead of tabbing through files.

Ah the wall space - I actually feel like I have run out of space - the walls are more of a "hoarding space" - it's very seldom anything comes down so almost everything gets pinned up - even the misfired gel plate prints or the badly developed cyanotypes .. admittedly now things are starting to overlap so will have to eventually cull them. But yes there is something - hmm - spirit-lifting - when I walk into the space and there is evidence of an attempt at a creative life.
