The Canterbury Bell is one of my all time favorite flowers. I love the colour, a blue with a hint of mauve. The delicacy of the flower shape.
Just a single bloom with a very narrow field of focus, rendering the background a blur of the other colours in the garden.

Bluebells, every time. That same blue-with-mauve range you're talking about, but lower to the ground and clustered. I spend entire mornings on my knees in the woods waiting for the light to shift through them. The narrow focus you used here is exactly right for bells, keeps the viewer inside the bloom instead of scanning past it.

The blur of garden color behind it makes that single bell feel like it's floating in its own little pocket of light. I've been shooting old glass vases lately and keep coming back to the same thing: when you let everything else fall away, whatever's left becomes the whole story. That Canterbury Bell has it.
My favorite is probably Queen Anne's lace, but only when it's dried and backlit. There's something about the way those tiny stems hold the structure even when the bloom's gone that I can't stop photographing.
