Before posting, please also review the following list of known art scams:
PAY BY CHECK / "I CAN'T USE YOUR WEBSITE". The most popular art scams involve the "buyer" trying to convince you to accept alternative payment methods – such as sending you a check, or paying via an app. One simple rule will protect you from 90%+ of scams: require all online orders from strangers to be placed through your website.
NFT OFFERS. Do not entertain any offers to buy your art as an NFT.
"GIFT FOR MY HUSBAND/WIFE". Be wary of messages sent to you via email or your Contact form referring to an upcoming anniversary, listing a multi-thousand dollar budget. Typically contains numerous grammatical errors. Typically compliments your art in very generic ways with no specific mention of any of your niches or subject matter.
SCARY MESSAGE FROM META (FACEBOOK). Ignore any messages that look to be from "Facebook," "Meta," or "Instagram," threatening to shut down your account if you don't take action (usually clicking a suspicious-looking link). These companies will never contact you via Messenger. Official communication will appear as a very visible banner at the top of your screen.
"DM PIC TO @_________". This is a standard bot comment you will receive on Instagram. No action is required, simply ignore.
And, here are some additional tips to stay safe:
Use unique passwords for each account, and make them strong. (*If you're on Co-Pilot, let us know every time you change your Facebook or Instagram password as we will need to reintegrate your social media accounts.)
Be cautious when sharing personal information, especially financial details.
Keep any antivirus software up to date.
Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. Investigate further or consult with us.

I actually fell victim to a scammer in 2022 on Instagram and I still regret not listening to my instincts because I wanted to trust her and I was hoping to be wrong about the whole situation. She asked for 40$ at first, then she started asking for more money after telling me to pay through a gift card (something nobody should ever do). I finally ghosted her after she wanted 100$ because she wasn’t feeling well and needed medication. She was constantly saying she had a headache whenever I tried to back out of the deal. I didn’t give her the money and ghosted her after that. She has now deleted her account or she was deactivated through a ban. Don’t be like me folks.
