Hello Steven, it's a pleasure to be a part of this community. Yes, I use a variety of styles as I've done many types of art in my lifetime. I've painted carousel horses and amusement park rides, done technical line drawings, illustrated kitchen utensils, created yellow page ads, been creative editor of a magazine and I had a graphic design business for 15 years. I've been all over the place, but I always loved painting more. I guess I'm still trying to pin down "my style" but I think I'm moved by the piece I'm working on and that determines how it evolves. I love poetry too so I will definitely check out that community as well.
Hi Letitia, I’m smiling looking at this this morning, partly because it speaks rather directly to the pigeon situation I’ve had on my balcony this week — they literally took shelter there from the storm, and I have had the unenviable task of trying to displace them.
What caught my eye in your painting is the shape here that reads to me almost like a sideways heart, or even a kind of window opening toward the horizon. The yellow focal area seems to form one side of it, and the band of blue sky the other. To me, that feels deeply prophetic — as though the image is quietly speaking of the heart and intent of the Father, of shelter, covering, and vision.
Did you see that heart shape as you were working, or did it reveal itself later?

Hello and welcome to the community. I checked out your site and it seems you have several variations of your style. Nicely done. If interested check out the Poetry and Art community. Some of the folks here are there as well.
Hi Anne, I'm glad that this piece speaks to you in such a practical way. It is exactly what I believe Father intended and what the Word says. For us to know that His heart is to keep and cover us. The heart shape revealed itself later because I intended it to be the opening toward the horizon as you described, allowing us to behold and see the reward of the wicked.
