I loved this portrait. The eyes seem to tell a story and give the work a huge sense of life. I have several feline friends, and this gaze made me smile immediately. Congratulations on your talent!

Hi Julie! 👋 That "quiet strength and gentle curiosity" line is honestly the whole thing with animal portraits. The patience it takes to hold that stillness in the work, especially the eyes, is a real chase. Where are you working from, studio setup or plein air sometimes?
Animal portraits with that kind of presence take serious observation. I paint gardens, but I recognize the patience it takes to catch something alive and still at the same time.
